"Mad Dog"
by David Nash
Middlesex CCC and England

It’s been almost fifteen years since I first met the ‘Mad Dog’ English at the Bunbury ESCA festival at Charterhouse School.

Cricket has given me many unforgettable memories and also helped me make many long lasting friendships.

From that E.S.C.A. team picked at Charterhouse many have gone on to gain International honours such as Fred, Tudes, Gaz, Batty and the late Peli (Ben Hollioake).  I’m not sure where my full International cap disappeared to but its likely to be found under a bar stool in McClusky’s nightclub in Kingston!!

I may not have necessarily fulfilled my potential but I have had a wonderful time playing the sport I love for the clubs I loved and have had the opportunity to play with and against many legends and childhood heroes.

Time has come and gone just like my barnet and it’s an absolute honour and privilege to have been awarded a benefit for the 2007 season.

Mad dog it has been an absolute pleasure playing for you and your Bunbury’s over the years and your shocking banter never ceases to amuse me.

I’ll apologise now for pestering you, cubes and all the Bunbury’s next year but have promised the Mrs some “”ff” cups for Xmas!

You’re a true friend and a legend.

All the best

Nashy
