Dave Beasant
Northern Ireland's goalkeeping coach

Tall, naturally gifted all rounder with amazing hands (except for the ball which went through them at Stamford).

First goalkeeper to captain a cup winning team, Wimbledon F.C., in 1989 where he also became the first goalie to save a penalty in an F.A. Cup Final.

Known to change next to Smith Eccles and Scudamore where he eagerly “earwigs” a few tips. Opening the bowling with Super “Syd” Lawrence and batting properly at 4, the Bunbury’s rely on Bezza’s cricketing talents.

Memorable occasion against Hampshire when he played alongside team mates Matt Le Tissier and Jason Dodd. A great team and family man, Dave is always supported by the super Sandy, Nicky, Sam and Sophie who sing to me every time I phone him at home!
