...and what a Summer we've got lined up! Come and enjoy our fun-filled days for all the family and the greatest Schools Cricket Festival in the world. Twenty plus celebrity games plus the David English Under 13 Bunbury Cup Final at Oundle School on 9th July; the Bunbury English Schools Cricket Festival at Charterhouse School nr Godalming, Surrey 27th to 31st July; and our return to Lord’s on 16th September for the National Bunbury E.S.C.A. Day featuring the England Under 15s vs MCC Schools.
Last September we staged the first ever Under 15s vs E.S.C.A. Under 16s on the greatest ground in the world thanks to the brilliant visionary Keith Bradshaw, Chief Executive of the MCC. England’s future test stars distinguished themselves in a glorious match resulting in a tie!
In the 23 year lifespan of the Bunbury Cricket Club, £12 million has been raised for different charities and through the Bunbury E.S.C.A. Festival, 54 boys have gone on to play for England; the ultimate honour and 188 into first-class cricket.
My heartfelt thanks go to all my Bunbury players for giving me their precious time and making miracles happen year after year.
And another special welcome to our brand new website; a partnership developed between our own Ashes Urnie - the ever so loyal Stevie Lovell, the wicket-keeping HP Sauce bottle from Lewes, and the brilliant Rob Shillaker, Corsham CC’s batting star. Rob and Steve have plenty of new ideas for the website which they'll be rolling out over the course of the Summer... so watch this space...!
